I have decided to use our Community Celebration Event for this "Meet and Greet" to celebrate 25 years of Geocaching.
I really enjoy hiding/hosting caches - nearly as much as finding/attending. This will be hide #1176 for us and our first Community Celebration Event Cache.
Three members of the caccbag family (one C, one A, and the B) will be traveling through some of Europe this summer (England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and France). France will be a new stop for Gabriella (our daughter). Alan (me) has been to Paris a handful of times in the past. Corinne (wife, mom, and the first C in caccbag) has been to France before but has only been in Paris when she was conceived.
Disclaimer: Lately, I am usually the more/only active cacher in our family so it may just be me while C and G catch up from any jet lag....but I will try to convince them otherwise.
Because we are Americans visiting your country (although C has dual citizenship of USA and Germany), I have selected the meeting GZ to be at the statue of Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (also because it is close to our hotel).
Beaumarchais was an early French supporter of American independence and he lobbied the French government on behalf of the American rebels during the American War of Independence. Beaumarchais oversaw covert aid from the French and Spanish governments to supply arms and financial assistance to the American rebels in the years before France's formal entry into the war in 1778. He later was also a participant in the early stages of the 1789 French Revolution.
There appears to be a nearby boulangerie/patisserie across the street so we could all grab a quick breakfast and/or coffee/tea/pastry/etc. during the event. In case of rain, we could also take refuge there so look for cachers inside in case of wet weather or you are arriving later in the event.
I should have some trackables to be discovered (and maybe a few to possibly hand off) - please bring any trackables you may wish to share.
