Celebrate the Christmas season with the Chattanooga Area Geocachers for the 9th annual Deck the Firehalls Christmas party! This year features the Community Celebration event icon as a final nod to 25 years of Geocaching. Additionally, for the first time ever, Deck the Firehalls will be an afternoon event, with festivities beginning at 1:00pm EDT.
We invite geocachers from near and far to join us, sign our official Christmas ornament, exchange trackables, eat delicious food, play games, and win door prizes.
Schedule of Activites:
Welcome to the Event: 1:00pm
Our official DTFH Christmas tree will be fully decorated, spreading holiday cheer. Among the twinkling lights, you'll want to sign our 2025 DTFH ornament, and discover any trackables that may be hanging around.
Snatch up your door prize tickets, and calculate your final score for the 'Naughty or Nice' Cache Tour.
Ice Breaker Activity: 1:15pm
Nobody is a stranger to Chattanooga Area Geocachers! Let’s get to know who has joined us for the party. Whether you frequent our events, or never met us before, we are excited to welcome you to the event this year. We have planned a fun interactive activity to kick things off, and set the stage for an afternoon of laughter and friendship at the firehall.
Christmas Meal: 1:30pm
Of course we heard those stomachs rumbling while playing the ice breaker game. No need to apologize though, because we encourage coming with an appetite at Deck the Firehalls. The time has come to find our seats and get ready to dig in. Bring your favorite dish to share with everyone for our potluck-style dinner. Sign up HERE for what you will bring to contribute!
DTFH Dessert Exchange: 2:30pm
A meal is not complete without dessert. New this year, we are expanding our traditional cookie exchange game and including other sweet treats to share with each other. To participate, bring a SECURELY PACKAGED dessert item (cookies, brownies, pies, fudge, fruitcakes, yule logs, or perhaps snowball fight truffles) for the sweet tooth table. These delicious treats will be passed LEFT, RIGHT, and ACROSS as we go down memory lane from our DTFH 2025 Cache Tour.
Group Game / Outdoor Activity: 3:00pm
All that food and dessert is great, but we certainly do not want everyone going into food comas. There's still more Christmas fun in store for our gathering! Bundle up as we go outdoors and visit Apison Park for another fun-filled activity. You never know what we have in store, but it could involve bonus caches and maybe even brand new adventure labs to complete.
Door Prizes: 3:30pm
Everyone goes home a winner! Once we return from the park, join us for a hot drink as we pass out Christmas gifts. For those who complete the DTFH Cache Tour, you could earn more than one prize. The closet is filled to the brim with unactivated trackables, keepsakes, pathtags, and much more.
Until Next Year / Event Ends: 4:00pm
Thank you for attending. Even though the event is over, doesn’t mean it’s time to leave. Stick around to share more geocaching stories while lending a helping hand on cleaning the venue. For anyone interested, the fire trucks will be outside for everyone to check out, and station tour available on request. Mark your calendars for Deck the Firehalls 2026, which will be announced at the event.
