Let’s go racing! It’s time for the Allegan County Road Rally CCE!

Get ready to hit the pavement, because it’s time for a good old-fashioned road rally! This challenging course will take you through the backroads of western Allegan County, finding caches, dodging obstacles, and collecting clues that will hopefully lead you to glory at the finish line!
The rally portion of the event will commence on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM in Hamilton’s Trestle Park and conclude at 2:30 PM at that same location. During the ensuing time, competitors will race down the dirt roads in the heart of the Allegan Forest, finding caches along the way. The course will take racers in a loop from Hamilton west to Saugatuck, then across the Kalamazoo River to Fennville and back west towards Allegan, before returning north to the finish line in the shadow of the Hamilton Trestle. After taking the checkered flag, we’ll celebrate our accomplishments with a sweet treat, prizes, and a time of fellowship. Of course, there will be plenty of surprises along the way, but those will not be revealed until race day! Why spoil the fun now?
Those of you who have heard about (or participated in) the Are You Geocacher Enough? events will undoubtedly recognize some similarities, but for those of you who aren’t quite that hard-core, don’t worry! This road rally can be enjoyed by everyone, and all are welcome regardless of racing experience; a Jetta will be just as welcome as a Jeep, and all the caches will be reasonably accessible. No impromptu repairs or frantic calls to the towing company required! Just grab a friend or two, start your engines, and get ready for the time of your life!
Event Details:
- Starting AND ending location is at Heath Township Park, Hamilton, MI, 49419.
- On the morning of the event, 22 new caches will be published along the route.
- The event will last from 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with a time for food and fellowship afterwards.
- Between 10:00 and 11:00 AM, groups may stop by the pavilion to pick up their route maps, and the race begins! Attendees may collect the code words to track their progress throughout the race and earn themselves a chance at winning the prize drawing.
- From 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM, participants will drive the course. At each cache, racers must note the code word contained in the cache.
- At 2:30 PM, the checkered flag will wave, and the race ends.
- Immediately after the race ends, a sweet treat will be served while the results are verified.
- A drawing will be held for all those who collected the code words, and then you’ll be free to go!
