Geocache Description:

You can drive right to this spot, you should not have to leave your car. Be careful as you are on a heavily traveled roadway.

At the end of the Civil War angry mobs expelled Confederate Refugees out of Missouri. These people moved to the area between Caldwell and Notus and began farming. They dug irrigaiton canals and began turning the area into a bread basket.

When gold and silver were discovered there came a large demand for flour and cattle, both of which could be produced in large numbers in this area.

Please e-mail me with your answer and do not mention anything of the answer in your log. I will quickly respond with your confirmation. Message me with the name which the area between Caldwell and Notus was known during the years 1864 to 1880.
