San Diego County is one of the best areas in the country to ride bicycles. Our pleasant year-round climate, varied terrain, and hundreds of miles of bike lanes, paths and trails contribute to an ideal biking environment. To profile some of these bike paths, this geocache series was developed. The selected bike paths are completely separate right-of-ways for the exclusive use of non-motorized travel so pull out those bikes for a healthy, “green” and fun way to geocache.
The fifth cache in the series is along the pedestrian/bike path that is the westward extension of the Walker Preserve biking and biking trail that starts in the parking lot of the Walker Preserve Trail and runs under Magnolia Ave. to come out at the southern end of Cottonwood Ave. There is another entrance to this bike path from the west side of Magnolia along the sidewalk area south of Walker Trail Drive. Currently, this cache cannot be accessed from the north end of Cottonwood Ave. Congratulations to Cache Finder 6000 and Corvettekent for co-FTF!
Parking is available at the Walker Preserve Trail at N 32 50.919 W 116 58.167.
Enjoy!
