Me about to cross back to land
This event is on a long, narrow island in Plainsboro Pond which you must wade out to from the shore of Mill Pond Park. I call it Wading Island. Wading Island used to be connected to the rest of the park, but the Army Corps of Engineers wanted to keep water flowing downstream, so they dug out the peninsula base where the dam is, and put rocks into the river/lakebed to prevent erosion. The water is only about two feet deep at the narrow crossing point to the island. Less than 100 feet in length by my estimate. Tall Wellingtons or Hip waders, if you are short like me, should do the job.
You May also Kayak to the island from the nearby launch off Maple Street.
Once on the Island, I will have the Logbook and pencils for you to write down your own HAIKU about Geocaching or this CITO Event.
A Haiku has:
Three lines of verse
First and Last lines have 5 syllables
Middle line has 7 syllables
Feel free to post them in your log if you want, along with a photo.
The CITO PART: The island has floatables from floods and other trash left from kayakers and fishermen. There is a discarded large turtle trap I want to pickup, too. Let's do it!
I will be providing Trash Bags and
Hot Coffee ☕ and also Donuts 🍩.
I would love it if people could help float 🛟 out their trash back to land. I will provide a trash float. We will be leaving our trash bags next to the park bench on the mainland (see above photo of park bench) I have asked Plainsboro DPW to collect the bags so that you don't have to cross the street with them.
Did you know:
All "Event" cache types must be a Difficulty 1.0, but I am making this CITO event a D 5.0 to fullfill a certain 9x9x9x9x9x9x9x9x9 challenge. I think it will be fun!
CITO means Clean Up
Haiku is a 3 lined poem
