Geocache Description:

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I have moved the final location and made the change in Certitudes. If you "presolved this geocache"  before 4-18-2025 at 1:00 p.m., run Certitudes again to get the updated coordinates and hint.

The cache IS NOT at the above coordinates!
Signage indicates that the Ventura Harbor Wetlands Ecological is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It's likely that they close at sunset if earlier than 7:00 p.m.

In classic Letterbox style, you will follow a set of instructions to a location. From there, you will answer information into Certitudes to obtain the final coordinates and a hint about the container's location. You'll walk less than 8/10ths of a mile on a flat, hard-packed dirt trail.

Cache Across Southern California 2025

Greetings, film critics! Are you ready to explore Hollywood through the ages? Find and locate one of the roughly 40 CASC geocaches across all 10 Southern California counties. As you find geocaches, you may stamp your passport to track your progress and turn it in at the SoCal Spring Fling mega event on May 3rd, 2025, to redeem your film critic award.

How do I use the CASC Passport?
Use the stamp in each CASC geocache and stamp any of the 15 small movie tickets on the front page of the passport. At the bottom of each ticket, write the geocache's GC code corresponding to the stamp provided. Then, on the reverse side, circle or highlight the caches you found from the list. Doing these steps will increase efficiency and decrease wait times at the CASC table at Spring Fling.

CASC Prize Redemption
To qualify for prize redemption at SoCal Spring Fling 2025, two award packages are offered: Silver and Gold. For the SILVER award, you must find at least 6 CASC geocaches in 3 counties. You must find at least 15 CASC geocaches in all 10 counties to qualify for the GOLD award. The silver award includes a CASC 2025 completion e-badge for your geocaching profile, a CASC sticker, and a small mystery prize. Gold award includes a complimentary special edition CASC 2025 geocoin + the silver award prizes—only one prize package per qualifying account. Prize distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sharing your progress
Feel free to share and post your progress with others on the official CASC Facebook group. Important announcements leading up to Spring Fling will also be periodically added here.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World - (2003)

The Courage To Do The Impossible Lies In The Hearts of Men

In April 1805, during the Napoleonic Wars, Captain Jack Aubrey commanded H.M.S. Surprise, a British frigate. Aubrey and the Surprise's current orders were to track, capture, or destroy a French privateer named Acheron. This task would be difficult as Aubrey quickly learned in an initial battle with the Acheron that it was a larger and faster ship than the Surprise, which disadvantaged the Surprise.
