The tank in Dgania A

The tank here is a Renault R- 35 (Char léger Modèle 1935 R) made between 1936 and 1940 and used by 14 countries including both Syria and Israel.
In may 20th 1948, 6 days after the declaration of independence, this tank made its way to Dgania A after the Syrian army occupied Sha'ar HaGolan, Masada (kibbutz) and Tzemah tegart/ police station. after the news of the occupation made its way south the army mobilized and astablished itself in Dgania A&B.
At 4:15 am, Syrian artillery attack began on Israeli forces. Three Renault tanks advanced And moved towards Degania A. Soldiers from the kibbutz helped the army with machine guns, mortars and artillery guns in the aim of stopping Syrian progress, and inflicted many casualties on their forces. The Syrian attack was halted at 7:45 p.m., so Syrian power began to step up its attack on Degana B.

There are 5 main versions of whom stopped the tank but this is a controversial topic so I'll not get into it, in short someone shot it and it stooped moving, this marks a win in the war and is an integral part of Dgania A's story.
