Geocache Description:

Cache is at one end of a city park. VIRTUAL CACHE: You must email the answer to the question asked in the description to claim this cache.

During WWII, New Mexico history was entangled with the war in the Pacific theater. Native American "code talkers", the development of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the capture and subsequent forced march of many New Mexican National Guardsmen in the Phillipines (an episode known to American vets as the "Bataan Death March") were all part of the state's involvement. This virtual cache notes another facet of that era. Right or wrong, it happened near here. Please respect nearby private property and driveways. To qualify your find, e-mail me with the number of men noted on the marker. Please do not list this in your log.
