The Point, the Hoyt country house, is not on this loop but can be found elsewhere in this multi-named park. The house was designed in 1855 by Calvert Vaux for Blanche Geraldine Livingston Hoyt (sister of MN 4 Maturin Livingston Jr.) and her husband Lydig Hoyt. Lydig had purchased 62 acres, but it wasn’t until Geraldine received a portion of the adjacent Lewis-Livingston property from her mother that planning began for the estate.
