Peggy Bedford was the landlady of a massive coaching house and pub - the abandoned buildings in front of you are all that reamins. In olden times, this location was about as far as a horse leaving central London could ride without taking a break. So coaching houses like this grew up in this area. They had stables for the horses and a pub for the people. But all that changed when the traffic stopped coming down this road in 1927 (see my other cache) and eventually the pub here closed down.
Update July 2026 - Because of destructive muggling I have had to take a line of suspension with this gated cache. To find it you will need to look upwards and stare it in the eye.
This cache is big enough to contain a small trackable.
