Geocache Description:

03/31/2006 - Updated Coords slightly. You are NOW searching for an Ammo Can. Stay on the trail until you see the bench. Then some slight bushwhacking. BRING DEET!!!

This themed cache is located in a quiet Polk County Park just off of Highway 98, North of I-4. It is also the home for the Mels Madness and the Gator Creek Caches, so you can do a Geocache triple dip here.

The entrance to Gator Creek Park is located near N 28 10.569 and W 081 59.230. It has posted hours but I have been in the park as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 7:00 p.m. and the gates have been open. Be sure to pick-up a park brochure. Care to guess which trail you’ll have to navigate to find the goods (Think Cache Name, duh? After you have completed your find, take time to enjoy the other trails in the park.

The cache is an Ammo Can and is a short (15 min.) walk (one-way) from the parking lot. It's Florida, so you guess what it is covered with.

It contains items related to the State “Critter” of Florida (Alligatorus Majorus Teethus) and they are NOT necessarily University of Florida trinkets. Please try to stick with the theme, but we do not want to discourage Noles, Vols, Canes, Bulls, or Dawgs from experiencing this lovely park.

The cache was initially stocked with alligator postcards, key chains, hat pins, a squeezie gator toy, UF stickers, mini pewter gator, and some homemade gator-claw back scratchers.

The cache is Travel Bug friendly and I will waive the "theme" guideline, if you choose to drop in a TB.
