This was the first NASA deep space station outside the USA. The Island Lagoon Tracking Station was established in 1960 and now this is all that remains.
There is one road into the cache area, it is OK for 2WD with normal care. The cache is a medium sized tupperware bucket hidden in some rocks.
If you have time explore off to the south for a great view over the lagoon and perhaps you could pick up a 'moon rock' for your aquarium.
