Aquí, los muros alguna vez brillaron con láminas de oro que reflejaban el poder del dios Inti, el Sol. Este fue el centro espiritual del Tawantinsuyo, donde los incas alineaban sus templos con los astros y marcaban los ciclos agrícolas.
Bajo tus pies, la historia vibra: cada piedra fue colocada con una precisión asombrosa, tan perfecta que ni una hoja de papel cabe entre ellas. Sobre este templo ancestral se construyó luego el Convento de Santo Domingo, creando un diálogo fascinante entre dos mundos: el andino y el europeo.

Se cree que fue construido durante el gobierno del Inca Pachacútec, y desde este templo partían los ceques, líneas imaginarias que conectaban a Cusco con todos los puntos del imperio, demostrando su papel como centro espiritual y político del mundo andino.
Tras la llegada de los españoles, el templo fue saqueado y sobre sus cimientos se levantó el Convento de Santo Domingo, como símbolo de la conquista. Aun así, las bases incas, resistentes y perfectamente ensambladas, siguen en pie, desafiando al tiempo y recordándonos la grandeza de la civilización inca.
