Geocache Description:

Ever get the feeling some caches are just out of your reach?

A number of years ago, I travelled on a punt along the river Cam at Cambridge University in England.  Apart from safety gear, there were only two things you needed - a punt to ride in and a...  erm, It's slipped my mind.  Unfortunately there is not enough water, or width, to punt along the Ponds Creek - as you will see for yourself if you use the nearby crossing.

But just here you might find a use for that thing I can't remember the name of... it's on the tip of my tongue.

At GZ please exercise care as you are near a steep drop into the creek.  Keep an eye on any kids with you.

Welcome to
The Ponds Walk

This is one of a number of caches placed along or near The Ponds Walk.

The walk starts at Mobbs Hill in Carlingford and travels over 7 kilometres of paths and bush tracks to Crowgey Reserve in Rydalmere. During the walk you will travel through Sydney Turpentine Ironbark Forest and be surrounded by native birds and wildlife.  I have spotted Kookaburras and Water Dragons but there are other native birds as well as possums here.

For more information on this walk (and others) see the Parramatta Council website.

This geocache was part of GC Project: It's Raining Caches 2025.

The project's aim was to create a rain of new geocaches that would fall from the sky across the state of NSW at 9am on 19th January 2025 - 1 week before Sydney Geoquest, the first Block Party in the Southern Hemisphere.

Many legendary hiders came together to generously contribute their finest geocaches to build excitement and connection amongst the community and for all finders to enjoy years after the event.

This geocache helped make it rain.
