This cache is part of the larger IssaQuest Sustainability GeoTour and begins at the mural next to 'The Garage' cafe for teens. When downtown, Sasquatch visits the beautiful artwork around the area. Issaquah is home to a wealth of arts and culture activities and experiences. Historic downtown is a cultural hub featuring the award-winning Village Theatre, galleries featuring the works of local and regional artists, and schools for visual art, music, and theater. The mural reminds our community and visitors about connecting with nature. This building houses The Garage - a safe space dedicated for teens to connect, play games and music, or talk with a counselor. Youth at The Garage put on several events related to the environment and sustainability each year, including a recent workshop on climate resilience.
Follow Sasquatch to the final coordinates to visit a unique statue of Harvey Manning, a notable author and local outdoorsman, commissioned by the Issaquah Alps Trails Club (IATC). It is surrounded by boulders volunteered by the Manning family home on Cougar Mountain. Printed on the notebook in the statue's hand is the quote: "MAKE YOUR WORLD LARGER... by going slower".
