Geocache Description:

Clyde Sea Lochs Trail - Clynder

What’s in the name? Where does it come from? An Claon Dearg, Ros Neimhidh, Rubha, Gearrloch; To have a satisfying aaaah-ha experience, read through the panel. Suddenly it will all make sense.

Clynder is on the east coast of the Rosneath peninsula. Pilgrimage to St Modan’s Church can be dated back as far as the 6th century. Some ancient carved cross stones and the remains of the medieval building can be seen at Clachan of Rosneath a few miles south.
