You are looking for a 6x4" click box covered with black tape which is large enough for TBs and geocoins. There is no need to cross the road to the memorial itself.there is plenty of street parking and more next to the pub.
The memorial was originally unveiled on 27th March 1921.
The memorial lists 67 names for the fallen of World War 1, 30 for World War 2 and 1 for former Yugoslavia (Croatia). In the 1980's the memorial was temporarily removed when the roundabout was rebuilt to accommodate a new by-pass near by, in 1996 a new cross was fitted after the original had been damaged and in 1999 the Croatia plaque was added.
The memorial is located on a roundabout off at the junction of Russell Road, Refree Way, High Street and Church Road. The memorial is made of stone and is in the form of a three-stepped base surmounted by octagonal plinth and square-wheel cross; the arms of cross have caps on the end. Bronze plaques with the names of the fallen are affixed to the sides of the plinth. The whole memorial stands on a paved base. An additional plaque has been attached to one side of the base with a name from the conflict in Croatia on it.
The area is cared for by the Shepperton Village Residents as can be seen from the floral displays and general appearance of the memorials surroundings.
