This is a large geocache, guarded by Captain America. It is very similar to the nearby geocache GC4Y616 - The Bat Lookout - which is located at the Motuoapa lookout. The cache is located at the base of the Parikarangaranga cliffs, an ancient burial ground (urupa) of the Tuwharetoa people (the tangata whenua). It is also an important sacred site (wahi tepu). Climbing of the cliffs therefore, is not permitted.
The geocache is located at the southern end of the Moutoapa reserve, and about 30m into the bush. However, the reserve can only be accessed at the opposite, Northern end. Here is a link to the reserve entrance, which is also a waypoint: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hzp1ZgDV68w7a93X6
Most cars will be able to drive all the way to the cache area, but parking near the reserve entrance is also a good option as the road is rough in places. If you do choose to park and walk, do not park along SH1, as you can park on the reserve. Alternatively, the cache is a 1km walk from liquorice cafe.
