All are welcome to come to this event and there is plenty of room for everyone as it will be held at Jetty Foreshore Park in Jordan Esplanade, opposite the railway station. We will have some geochat and swap stories about caching achievements and aims.
Coffs Harbour Railway history.
Coffs Harbour railway station was opened on 30th August 1915 and the building you see now was opened in October 1971. Previously there was a goods yard and crossing loop located opposite the station, but this was closed in 1996.
On the 29th and 30th August 2015 an event was held to celebrate the centenary of the station. Locomotive 5917 was brought from Lachlan Valley Railway to add to the festivities. A plaque was unveiled by the then Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser, to commemorate the event.
