We are two cachers from Germany and we start our journey through the southeast of Australia in Melbourne. It would be nice to meet other cachers on this interesting little island. The logbook will be available for at least half an hour.
There are four other different caches on this island. So you can visit a challenge cache, a virtual, a tradi and a multi cache. The caches have a rating of T5 because you nead a boat to reach the island.
Visitors can catch a free punt service to Herring Island from Como Landing. The punt service runs:
- Weekends and public holidays from the first weekend of the year through till and inclusive of Easter only
- 11.00 am to 5.00 pm with the last service departing the Island at 5.00 pm (no service from 12:30 pm to 1.00 pm)
- Approximately every 15 minutes, departing from Como Landing.
