This Event is our second attempt to Top the Tower and hold another National Something Day Event.

Location: Scargo Tower, Rain or shine, we have umbrellas!
Event Info: This Event will be held at Scargo Tower. Looking to create variety for these events, this one is titled "Top the Towerl". If you are a Cape visitor and are looking for an event, this is an opportunity to grab a smiley while on Cape Cod. The tower location offers amazing views and as a bonus, several other unique caches in proximity to this event. You can share caching stories about when you needed or used the Umbrella while caching or swap Trackables and talk about your latest geocaching adventure. Like all our Series Events, they are intended to "Attract Muggles" and bring them into the game. This is the perfect event to bring a Muggle friend with you just to let them know "you are not the only crazy cacher out there".
Background Information: The official National Umbrella Day this year is Monday 10 February, but we will hold the event on a weekend affording more participation. Dolly Parton once said that if you want the rainbow, you’ve got to put up with the rain. Although she never said anything about how to put up with the rain, for generations, the method-of-choice has been the umbrella. National Umbrella Day was established to commemorate the invention of one of the most used pieces of personal weather protection a person will ever own. Umbrellas are useful for keeping rain or sunlight off of a person and are portable enough to take just about anywhere. So why not take the time out of your busy day and spend a few moments celebrating a piece of equipment that many of us use regularly but few people think about.
Participation: This is our second Top the Tower Event. For those that attended last year, we thank you for your participation. For those that were unable to make the event, we were unable to access the tower as a snow storm prevented parking or acces, so we held the event at the Bicycle bridge on Rt 134. This year, we are hoping for better weather to indeed top the tower. If we are unable to get to the tower, we will again visit the Rt 134 Bike Bridge, but we are hopeful the Tower Event will go as planned! If you haven't attended any of the other National Something Day themed Events, this is your opportunity to add a colorful roof to Scargo Tower. In addition to the Top the tower plan, we are also planning to take a top down photo to hopefully show a colorful ring around the base of the tower. This second photo and gathering location allows those that may be unable to climb the stairs to the top to also participate in a unique covered photo opportunity.
