Casteddu Etzu è un castello, ormai in rovina, costruito nel XII secolo, inizialmente con funzione difensiva del giudicato di Arborea e poi passato sotto diverse proprietà fino alla seconda metà del '600, quando venne abbandonato.
Del castello rimane soltanto una traccia della pianta e delle varie stanze, ma non è stato possibile dedurre la loro funzione.
Vale però la pena affrontare la ripida salita (abbastanza agevole, ci sono degli scalini) per avere una visione del Montiferru a 360 gradi.
Fate molta attenzione durante la salita e la discesa, meglio avere scarpe da trekking. Potreste trovare qualche pecora al pascolo (quindi attenzione anche ai loro bisogni!!).
Attenzione: anche se il castello è in rovina, si chiede a tutti il dovuto rispetto, soprattutto cercando la cache. Siate attenti anche al riposizionamento!
Casteddu Etzu is a castle, now in ruins, built in the 12th century. Initially, it served as a defensive structure for the Giudicato of Arborea, later passing through various owners until the second half of the 1600s, when it was abandoned. Today, only traces of the castle’s layout and various rooms remain, but it has not been possible to determine their specific functions.
However, the steep climb (fairly manageable, with steps) is well worth it to enjoy a 360-degree view of the Montiferru. Be very careful during the ascent and descent—it’s best to wear trekking shoes. You might encounter grazing sheep along the way (so watch out for their droppings too!).
Caution: Even though the castle is in ruins, we kindly ask everyone to treat the site with respect, especially while searching for the cache. Be careful when repositioning it as well!
