Drama Queen Pansy has a lot of time on her hands ever since her best friend, Persimmon, started a pre-med program. So she decided to put her free time and personality to good use by getting involved in community theater.
Recently she had a nightmare, in which she was called an androgynous alto. Upon awakening, she ran to her family and demanded they listen to her sing in a soprano voice to prove her range went above alto. Then she told her parents she was DESPERATE to be sure she was feminine and not androgynous. Despite their protestations that she was quite feminine enough, she decided to go shopping and found a gorgeous diaphenous ice-blue gown at Saks Fifth Avenue. Then she begged the local theater manager to put on a production of Frozen. All that was left was to get out her old Disney DVD and get into the Nordic spirit. OF COURSE she needed to get the role of Elsa. Wasn't Idina Menzel classified as a mezzo-soprano? How incredible it would be to prance around in her beautiful new dress on stage in an ice castle of her very own?
It happened to be winter, so she decided to practice being Elsa by running across a frozen pond. She ignored the hazard signs by the shore, instead chosing to forge ahead right onto the ice. She started out fairly strong, only wobbling slightly as she slid across the slippery surface. She made it through the first few stanzas of "Let it Go," then suddenly plummeted through the ice and into the freezing water! That quelched her performance for the local geese. Luckily she was able to drag herself back to shore. If only there were a hot tub right next to the pond she could jump into!
