Persimmon Pesky is done with most of the harder STEM subjects in her pre-med curriculum. Now she also has to take some electives to round out the total credit requirements for her undergraduate degree in biology. She decided to take an entomology course and was tasked with the mission of finding an insect nest or making an insect collection. Her father, an avid geocacher and quite obsessive fellow, kept detailed records of things he has noticed on his outings. When she told him of her assignment, he got out his documents and gave her the following instructions:
Go to N 40° 19.627′ W 74° 35.237′ and look at the sign there. Make the number at the top of the sign ABC D/E. Then solve for the final location which is at: N40 19.BD[A-A] W74 35.D[B+E][C].
Why did Paul Pesky document the location of an insect abode in this manner? Who the heck knows. People are weird.
Might be better to wait for safer warmer months to go wading to this island, although risk of dangerous insects then will certainly be higher.
