In celebration of 25 years of Geocaching; and as part of the Wickham Park refresh, ahead of the 18th Annual SCGA Picnic in the Park, 26 caches are being hidden around the park, each one commemorating a year in Geocaching's history.
2016 had a few memorable moments in geocaching.
By year's end, there were over 2.8 million caches hidden world wide.
The moratorium on challenge cache submissions was lifted, with updated, stricter guidlines on requirements for publishing them.
The catchy "That's Not Trash, It's a Geocache" song/video made its debut in the Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF).
The "Mission 9: Tunnel of Light" Ape Cache made its return to active status, after a team of enthusiastic geocachers found the original container not far from the original placement.
And nalceloc, consisting of Twig, Shrub, and Sprout, part of the coleclan, made our official debut with our own account.
The geocache is a full sized, stocked ammo can. Please replace and cover back up to protect the integrity of the hide, and allow other geocachers the same thrill of the hunt.
