白ひげの滝
白ひげの滝は、地層の間から水が湧き出しています。滝がかかる崖の下部は, 大昔の土石流などでたまったレキや 砂の層で,その上に重る岩の層は,溶岩です。白ひげの滝は, 十勝岳火山は歷史を物語る地層の境から水が湧き出しているのです。
十勝岳連峰は,約100万年間にわたる火山の活動の結果,形づくられました。現在まで継いている十勝岳の活動は，その一蓮の火山活動なのです。
これらの火山活動によってつくられた大地には独特の湧水や動植物がみられ、私たちはその恩恵を受けながら、時に災害と向き合い美瑛や上富良野の土に生きています

Shirohige falls
Shirohige-no-taki falls is formed by water gushing out from the boundary of two rock layers. The lower rock body is a layer of gravel and sand accumulated from ancient mudflows. The upper layers are rock left by lava flows. Shirahige-no-taki falls has water spewing from the seams of rock strata showing the volcanic history of the Tokachidake mountains
The Tokachidake mountain range was formed by a string of volcanic activities in the last million years.
Mt.Tokachidake, an active volcano, has created unique springs, flora, and fauna.
While reaping the benefits of these mountains, was also sometimes face geo-hazards as we live in Biei and Kamifurano.
