Geocache Description:

The Apache Chief Cabin is located at the mine with the same name, in the Plomosa Mountains near Quartzite, AZ.  It is estimated that this mine was operated (intermittently) from the early 1860's through 1967. Minerals mined were copper, gold, silver and lead,  The stone cabin has long been abandoned and it's unknown how long ago it was constructed.   Depending on how you approach this cabin trails range from smooth and non-technical to rocky, requiring a high clearance vehicle (UTV, Jeep) and moderately challenging..  The cache is located off the trail.  There is some rock climbing required.  Use caution, remembering that this is a desert location and the need to be aware of plants that can poke and animals that can bite.  There is a Holiday trackable in the cache.
