A new addition to the Chautauqua County Rural Cemetery cache series. This is Hollenbeck cemetery. It was filled with markers from the 19th century which were mostly stolen or destoyed by vandals in the summer of 1995. In 1996 the township of Ellicott placed a large memorial monument for the 10 families who are buried here, including the Hollenbeck family, who still has two original stones here. The cache is at the very edge of the cemetery far from any marker. The terrain is a 2.5 as you will need to climb a small hill to get there. Parking is along the road only (SEE the PARKING waypoint!). Avoid the entrance into the farmer's field behind the cemetery. Please only visit during daylight hours and rehide as you found it (or better in the same spot)!
