La cache si trova nei pressi di una vecchia casermetta dei Graniciari, attiva fino agli inizi degli anni '90 del secolo scorso, quando la Yugoslavia si disgregò dividendosi . La casermetta era una delle basi dei Graniciari, soldati per lo più provenienti dalla Macedonia e dal Montenegro che pattugliavano il confine che era parte della cortina di ferro. Fino alla dissoluzione della Yugoslavia era molto pericoloso passeggiare nei boschi lungo il confine in quanto per guadagnare qualche giorno di licenza premio essi non esitavano ad attirare le persone con stratagemmi per arrestarle e portarle in caserma. A volte arrestavano anche persone che erano ancora per pochi metri in Italia. Ora invece si può tranquillamente attraversare il confine ed ammirare questo resto della guerra fredda.

The cache is located near an old barracks of the Graniciari, active until the early 90s of the last century, when Yugoslavia disintegrated and divided. The barracks was one of the bases of the Graniciari, soldiers mostly from Macedonia and Montenegro who patrolled the border that was part of the Iron Curtain. Until the dissolution of Yugoslavia it was very dangerous to walk in the woods along the border because in order to earn a few days of reward leave they did not hesitate to lure people with stratagems to arrest them and take them to the barracks. Sometimes they also arrested people who were still a few meters away in Italy. Now, however, you can safely cross the border and admire this remnant of the Cold War.
