Geocache Description:

GC37 - Missouri's First - Watt's Mill - 06/20/2000

Kansas City is lucky enough to have the honor of hosting the first Missouri geocache.

On June 20, 2000, Steve Brown placed the first KC and first MO geocache. Here is his story: Today at lunch(6-20-2000), I read about GPS Stash Hunting on the sci.geo.satellite-nav USENET newsgroup and found Mike Teague's home page. Check it out and then click on Missouri listed under "Active Stashes". http://www.triax.com/yngwie/gps.html I could not find any Geocache sites to go hunt this evening so I went out in the rain and made my own. I expect it to be the first in Kansas City(turns out to be the first in Missouri). I found a nice location along side the Watts Mill walking/bicycle trail in South Kansas City.

With GC37 still alive today, thank's to OrigamiFolder, I thought it would be a good reason to celebrate! Come out to Watt's Mill and mingle with other geocachers. Discuss your favorite "oldest" caches. CITO the area. And of course don't forget to FIND GC37 if you're name isn't already on the log smiley We'll see what other surprises I can come up with for the occasion.
