Tuesday August 5th from 4PM to 6PM at KNOX Presbyterian Church 2964 Richmond Rd, Victoria, BC
Geobridge over troubled waters!! There is no fee for this event and you do not have to participate in the card game. Four of our local bridge players are geocachers. It'll be fun for you to know more about our other passtime of the game bridge. After all, Ernietr, Wrooster and I have educated our bridge players on Geocaching.
This is actually be a few boards of Whist with a bridge twist. Whist is a classic English trick-taking card game which was widely played in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Please fill out the WILL ATTEND so I can set up the right number of tables and have enough food and drinks.
Come as you are. You will be paired up and seated at a table in the North/South or in the East/West position if you want to play.
No bidding involved. Easy peasy.
Few Rules:
If East declares the preset contract, West becomes dummy and lays down her/his hand for East to call cards from.
This means North and South are defenders who should remember that second hand plays low and third hand plays high.
The winners will be awarded prizes!
We'll play for an hour before we snack and put all the tables and chairs away.
There is room for 30ish vehicles in the parking lot, there is also street parking. There will be an event till 3:40PM and the parking will be full so prepare to wait for parking if you come early.
