The Evil MPO has time on his hands
The story: The Evil MPO was playing with fire and melted his clock. He was repairing it and while replacing the numbers, he could not remember the order they were supposed to go. He did the next best thing and now he is probably going to be late for every geocache event.
The Puzzle: Determine how the MPO placed his numbers back on the clock. The MPO numbers start at the 1 o'clock position and are placed clockwise because that is how he knows to read time. The MPO numbers have some type of order that will be apparent once solved.
The first 4 numbers for each coordinate are correct. You must convert the last three numbers of each by referring to the example provided below.
N 38° 52.???′ W 77° 22.???′
EXAMPLE ON HOW TO CONVERT THE POSTED COORDINATES
This is a demonstration on converting the North Coordinates and the same would apply to the West coordinates.
The example MPO clock below is NOT the solve for the puzzle.
Once you have determined the proper placement of the numbers on the MPO clock,
you must convert the posted coordinates to how they would appear on a normal clock.
Start with the MPO clock on the left for the example conversion.
The first number in the example is 3 and it falls on the 9 of a normal clock.
The second number in the example is 5 and it falls on the 7 of a normal clock.
The third number in the example is 8 and it falls on the 4 of a normal clock
So your new coordinate would end in 974.
