This cache is situated on the Northern approach to Jamestown, originally James Town, which was named after Sir James Ferguson, the Governor of South Australia when the town was surveyed in 1871. It is known for it's grain, legumes, wool and timber from Bundaleer forest.
In 2017 a giant battery farm was built at Hornsdale wind farm, the largest of its kind in the world. Jamestown is the birthplace of Australian bush legend, Sir Reginald Murray Williams, better known as R. M. Williams, Sir Raphael Cilento, tropical medicine pioneer and father of Diane Cilento, Paul Cronin, actor, and Edgar Mayne, test cricketer.
(Tanks go to Jamestown visitor centre for the above info).
