Tien jaar geleden heb ik voor de 40ste verjaardag van mijn goede vriendin Melanie deze cache. Helaas ging die ofline en plaats ik hem nu weer. Melanie leeft een bizar leven touring met bands over de hele wereld, maar ze komt altijd terug in Amsterdam. als ze er is dan spreken we af in een bruin cafe, om bij te praten, een glaasje wijn te drinken, bitterballen te snacken. Bruine cafe's zijn er genoeg in deze buurt. Geniet van de Amsterdamse humor, gastvrijheid en muziek.
Over ten years ago I placed this cache in honour of Melanies 40th birthay . Due to some isues the original cache was Archived , so i place it again. This Cache is dedicated Melanies birthday and in honour of the best traditional bars in Amsterdam.
Melanie is touring and traveling a lot. She is living the rock and roll dream. But she always returns to Amsterdam. If so, we meet in a typical brown cafe to drink wine and talk. Brown cafe's are dutch heritage and in this neighbouhoud you can find nice examples nearby.
Like most people in Amsterdam, Melanie uses a bar as her second living room. The houses and appartments in Amsterdam are often old and small. So we like to go out to a cafe, meet and make friends in cafe. The atmosphere is what we call 'gezellig', hard to translate but very Dutch.
In december we celebrate Melanies birthday, most likely in a brown cafe. You might be lucky and meet Melanie or make new friends.
The cache is located on a very iconic spot. Nearby the famous Westertoren, the Jordaan, Anne Frank house and the Gay monument.
