When camping, or heading up into the foothills weather can be a big issue... While staying at the adjacent campsite over the years we have experienced snow in January, torrential rain, 35°C temperatures and drought conditions, a lighting storm that lasted several hours and gale force winds enough to snap poles in a commercial marquee...
ECAN have a weather station here to monitor rainfall, and we thought it an ideal place to add a cache... especially as MacPacDad returns every three years with 300-400 Scouts to teach geocaching. MacPacMum helps out with the geocaching, teaching photography or by chucking Scouts off a cliff... with ropes attached.
This cache was a collaboration effort with the "Printing 3D" and "Seek n' Find" bases on the Staveley Adventure Scout Camp 2025, and with support from the Scout leader who works in ECAN.
PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ANY ECAN EQUIPMENT, LOCKS OR CROSS ANY FENCES.
