Welcome to The Kaimanawa Forest Park.
The rest of the family wanted to see the Pillars of Hercules, so we had a minor diversion from SH1 to do so.
This was one of those locations that I felt really ought to have a geocache, so whilst the others were exploring and enjoying the view from the bridge, I scoured the car to see what I could find that would suffice for a cache container, and a suitable location to hide it.
Nothing fancy, just a metal tin with waterproof paper for a logsheet, hidden in the barrier, hopefully protected from the elements, so should be fine for a couple of years if replaced carefully.
There is ample space to pull off the road opposite GZ.
Please take care crossing the road, whilst I suspect it will usually be quiet here, some people will probably hoon through, not expecting to encounter anybody.
We had some phone signal (Spark) at GZ, but I don't know if that will be the same for everyone.
