Ezzel a rejtéssel szeretnélek meghívni benneteket a Kassai út végére, az egykori szocialista ipar debreceni fellegvárához, a Göcshöz.
Debrecenben a szocialista iparosítási politika egyik büszkesége a Magyar Gördülőcsapágy Művek gyára volt. Ez a telep lett az ország csapágyiparának központja, amit 1952 áprilisától hoztak létre az I. ötéves terv nyomán.
A városi tanács a termelés gyors beindítása érdekében a vállalat rendelkezésére bocsátotta a Nyugati utcai volt huszárlaktanyát is. Itt képezték át a dolgozókat, és a gyártást is itt kezdték el, amíg felépült a Köztemető melletti iparkomplexum.
A Köztemető melletti gyár terveit szovjet dokumentációk alapján alkotta meg a Gépipari Tervező Iroda. A Nyugati utcai ideiglenes üzem, a Göcs II. 1952-ben a Nagy Októberi Szocialista Forradalom tiszteletére készítette el az első csapágyat az egykori huszárlaktanyában.
Itt 1974-ig folyt a termelés, aztán átadták a telepet a Budapesti Finomkötöttáru-gyár Debreceni Gyáregységének. A városszéli nagyberuházás 1966-ig tartott.
1966-ig a debreceni gyárra már 800 millió forintot költöttek, viszont a teljesítmény felkúszott évi 6,2 millió darabra. Mindeközben 1952-ben a munkáslakásokat is kijelölték a Szabadság útjára, valamint a Petőfi térre.
Fejleszteni kellett (volna) a tömegközlekedési, áram- és gázellátó hálózatokat is, ugyanakkor bölcsődére, óvodára és egészségügyi ellátásra is szükség volt.
Mindemellett könyvtárat rendeztek be, és a Keleti-főcsatorna partjára pihenőházat is építettek. Sőt, a gyáralapítás 25. évfordulóján már javában épült az új sporttelep és étterem is az Oláh Gábor utcán.
A Magyar Gördülőcsapágy Műveket 1963-ban hozták létre a diósdi és a debreceni telepek összevonásával. Diósdon a hengergörgőket készítették, a cívisvárosban pedig a csapágyakat és a golyókat.
Az 1970-es évek végétől újabb nagy fejlesztéseket hajtottak végre, ám a rendszerváltás és a privatizáció az – eladott, részekre szabdalt – MGM karrierjének is véget vetett, akárcsak sok más nagyüzemünknek is.
A szocialista időkre ma már szinte csak a Kassai úti Szupermen emlékeztet az épületek előtti parkolóban.

With this hide, I would like to invite you to the end of Kassai út, the former citadel of socialist industry in Debrecen, the Göcs.
One of the prides of the socialist industrialisation policy in Debrecen was the factory of the Magyar Gördülőcsapágy Művek gyára. This plant became the centre of the country's bearing industry, established in April 1952 under the First Five-Year Plan.
The city council also made the former hussar barracks on Nyugati Street available to the company in order to start production quickly. Here the workers were retrained and production started until the industrial complex near the Köztemető was built.
The plans for the factory near the Cemetery were drawn up by the MGépipari Tervező Iroda on the basis of Soviet documents. The temporary factory on Nyugati Street, Göcs II, made the first bearings in 1952 in the former hussar barracks in honour of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
Production continued here until 1974, when the plant was handed over to the Debrecen Factory of the Budapesti Finomkötöttáru-gyár. The major investment in the city centre lasted until 1966.
By 1966 the Debrecen factory had already cost 800 million forints, but output had risen to 6.2 million units a year. Meanwhile, in 1952, workers' housing was allocated to Szabadság út and Petőfi tér.
The public transport, electricity and gas supply networks were (to be) improved, while crèches, kindergartens and health care were also needed.
In addition, a library was built and a recreation centre was constructed on the banks of the Eastern Main Canal. In fact, on the 25th anniversary of the founding of the factory, the new sports complex and restaurant on Oláh Gábor Street were under construction.
The agyar Gördülőcsapágy Művek was founded in 1963 by merging the plants in Diósd and Debrecen. In Diósd they produced the rollers, while in the heart of the town they made the bearings and balls.
From the late 1970s onwards, further major improvements were made, but the change of regime and privatisation ended the career of MGM, which was sold off and divided into parts, as it did for many of our other large plants.
Today, the only reminder of the socialist era is the Supermen on Kassai Road in the car park in front of the buildings.
