Come and help maintain a forest restoration site in beautiful Ladner Harbour Park! It's a community park with a unique combination of forest and working harbour (wharf and marina on the Fraser River). You'll be helping the City of Delta to keep the forest healthy.
Date: Saturday, January 25, 2025
Time: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
Park: Ladner Harbour Park
Activity: Invasive species (ivy) removal.
We'll be keeping invasive plants from crowding trees and the newly planted shrubs by trimming and pulling ivy. There may also be some holly and blackberry to remove, if you're in the mood!
Some work gloves will be available but if possible please bring your own gloves. Tools will be provided. The event will run rain or shine (or snow!), so please dress appropriately for the weather and activity. If it's recently rained, the ground can be quite sodden and muddy in the forest.
Parking: is available in two places: 1) at the marina close to the CITO worksite, and 2) next to the washrooms and picnic shelter. If you park in the latter carpark, it's a 4 min walk along the trail to the CITO worksite.
