If you haven't heard the story, this was a shooting location for the 1987 film Harry and the Hendersons" staring John Lithgow and featured Don Ameche's "North American Museum of Anthropology" which is the green building behind the Harry statue. It's a great family comedy!
This area is very popular, and it might take a bit for foot traffic to ease. You won't need to trapse around the giant Rhododendron, but if you happen to stop when it is in bloom, enjoy the fragrance!
