Geocache Description:

Bandini Canyon Park history part 1 of 4:

Bandini Canyon Park is located on the north end of San Pedro.  Mr. George Peck, an early real estate developer and benefactor in San Pedro, donated the majority of the 4.8 acres that is now known as Bandini Canyon to the City of Los Angeles in 1931.  The land has been designated as open space since this time.

This is one of a series of four caches intended to bring people to the Bandini Canyon hiking trail.  It's not the most picturesque hiking in the South Bay, but it's a nice short walk through some sururban green space.  This cache is a bison tube.  Please be sure to tuck this one back as far as it will go so it stays out of sight.  It can be accessed from both inside and outside the park, so it is 24/7.  Park hours are 5 am to 10:30 pm.
