Bandini Canyon Park history part 2 of 4:
In 2003 the City of Los Angeles, led by the Office of Councilmember Janice Hahn and the Department of Recreation and Parks, partnered with the community and Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative to transform the Canyon into usable park land.
This is the second in a series of four caches intended to bring people to the Bandini Canyon hiking trail. This one is hidden up in the eucalyptus tree on the north side of the trail. If you're on the trail looking towards the coordinates, it will be the tree to your left (just west of the posted coordinates). You should step up to the higher ground around the back (north side) of the tree and start your search there.
The terrain rating of 2.5 means you'll need to walk up a hill and step up on a stump. You do not need to actually climb the tree, but it is tucked away from casual viewers at any angle. The terrain challenge is higher for geocachers who are without full mobility or on the shorter side.
The park is open from 5 am until 10:30 pm. I recommend parking at either the east or west end of the park.
