Geocache Description:

Planetary alignments are fun because you can see multiple planets in the night sky at one time. What is somewhat unusual in January 2025 is so many planets are visible in the night sky at the same time.

Join us at Cobourg’s Victoria Beach Friday evening January 24 at 7:00 pm  to see what’s up in the sky!

If the weather is clear we should be able to easily see at least the three brightest planets: Venus, Jupiter, and Mars with just your eyes. If you bring binoculars you should also be able to spot Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter. Neptune is there, but you’ll need a telescope to view. Mercury was visible but set shortly after sunset!

If the sky is not clear we can still have a lights in the sky experience just a short stroll away at Cobourg’s Rotary Harbourfront Park where they are keeping the Christmas Magic lights on until February 17!
