On 19th October 2024 at 4am I started my attempt to break a Guiness World Record (GWR).
The record is to play at the most number of Lawn Bowls Clubs in 24 hours.
The record was 8 clubs and this is the Sixth of 10 Clubs for my day.
The challenge was that the rules state I was only allowed to use ONLY public transport meaning Metrorail, MyCiti and my feet.
No bicycle, no cars, no Ubers, no taxis. I walked a total of 29.85km in the day, almost 3/4 of a marathon
Unfortunately, I was put on the long route bus going over Kloof neck and past the Table Mountain Cable way which is usually very busy because it is such a huge tourist attraction. Traffic was even heavier because everyone was diverted into 1 lane because of the marathon.
When I finally got to the club, I was surprised to have a reporter photographer waiting for me.
This is the Sixth Geocache in a subcatogory of my Lawn Bowls Series (LBS).
I have had to wait a very, very long time for it to be confirmed and release the Caches.
