Dog Kennel Hill is named after the Surrey hounds who had thier kennels on the hill. These were demolished in 1908. The name came from the Canel family in Dulwich who first appear in 1431.
The area has roads that are named after famous hunts such as Felbridge, Petworth and Riseholme.
Parking outside of the supermarket (two hours free) is troublesome. To the north off Champion Hill will require permit, to the west and east, permits or payment will be required between noon and 2pm.
