La cache fa parte della serie Produzioni ininterrotte, progetto di valorizzazione della memoria del lavoro che vi porterà ad immaginare storie del territorio bergamasco ormai scomparse (o quasi) che hanno lasciato delle tracce nascoste.
Dal passato al futuro. Dalla riqualificazione dell'ex centrale termoelettrica di Celadina nasce Daste, un progetto di rigenerazione urbana e un centro di socialità e produzione creativa.
Attivata nel 1927 e alimentata prima a carbone, poi a gasolio e infine a metano, la centrale era collocata in un’area urbana a forte vocazione industriale e tessile. Scopo primario dell’infrastruttura era infatti quello di fornire energia alle industrie Riuniti e Filati, dove lavoravano oltre 600 dipendenti provenienti dalle valli bergamasche, tra cui moltissime donne. Negli anni ’60, quando il trasferimento dell’industria tessile e cotoniera nelle valli pedemontane portò all’abbandono graduale dell’intero comparto, ci fu anche una dismissione della centrale termoelettrica.
Ci sono voluti quarant’anni perché la struttura uscisse dall’oblio. Nel nuovo millennio lo stabile è stato coinvolto nelle iniziative culturali del quartiere di Celadina ed è diventato oggetto di diversi interventi di riqualificazione e recupero strutturale. Una vera e propria traccia nascosta del tempo che fu. (max 1400 caratteri)

From the past to the future. The redevelopment of the former Celadina thermoelectric power plant gave rise to Daste, an urban regeneration project and a hub for social engagement and creative production.
Activated in 1927 and initially powered by coal, then diesel, and finally methane, the plant was located in an urban area with a strong industrial and textile vocation.
The primary purpose of the infrastructure was to supply energy to the Riuniti and Filati industries, where over 600 employees from the Bergamo valleys worked, many of whom were women.
In the 1960s, when the relocation of the textile and cotton industries to the foothill valleys led to the gradual abandonment of the entire sector, the thermoelectric power plant was also decommissioned.
It took forty years for the structure to emerge from oblivion. In the new millennium, the building became involved in cultural initiatives in the Celadina neighborhood and became the focus of various
development and structural recovery projects.
