Claremont Beach is a small cove-like beach situated close to the harbour in Howth. It is a popular beach all year round and there are a number of pubs/restaurants located along the Harbour Road and in the village of Howth.
I am trying to regain my love for walking the path close to GZ is where you will find me either at the start or the end of my potter around the promenade/piers of Howth. It offers a beautiful beachy vantage point of Ireland's Eye. You can catch a glimpse of the boat yard, where the boats come to dry dock for maintenance.
Mother nature is a fantastically wonderful but scary element to the sea. Please be mindful that at high tide the water is all the way up to the wall, when the tide is coming in it surounds the sand mounds from both directions. To avoid wet feet (or worse!) watch out for the tide, be aware of tide times if you do venture down to the sand!
This hidden gem can be accessed at given trailhead... no access through the boat yards!!
Claremont Beach lifeguard station is operational during summer months only. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in June and every day from July to August
