Geocache Description:

About SideTracked Caches

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website

As this is now a Heritage station rather then a regular passenger train line, it is a REALLY Sidetracked cache

Dalmore Station

Dalmore was a railway station on the South Gippsland railway line in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It operated until the late 1970s. All that remains of this station now is the platform mound, however the track is still in reasonable condition.  It was opened on the 11th of November 1890.

The up side of the station was to Tooradin, and down side was Koo Wee Rup.

It is very difficult to even locate the former Dalmore Station with the track overgrown and buried below the gravel on Dalmore Road.

Originally Dalmore Station was called Koo Wee Rup West, and had 4 sidings,   It is even difficult to find any original photo's of the station, I will add some if I can find them.
