The sense of place is unique to everyone. For our family, this park, under the fallen kiawe tree, is our "place". We have been traveling to Maui for over a decade and spending our evenings watching sunset in this spot for just as long. Over the years we have witnessed proposals, reunions, artists capturing the beauty of Maui, musicians coming together, individuals sitting and reflecting, whales playing in the water and of course, families gathering to enjoy as the sun sets on a beautiful day. This was always a favorite ritual of ours, but no one loved it more than our beloved mother, friend and Nana, Sue. We are calling this Sue's Sunset to honor the love she felt for this place and the connection she will always have to it. May this spot bring you peace, love, and tranquility, as it has for us.
Please cover back up with rocks and make sure it is well hidden, and most of all, watch out for muggles.
Mahalo!
