Join us for a Groundhog Day celebration at the Dairy Queen in Jamestown, North Dakota on Sunday, February 2nd from 1:00PM until 1:30PM. While the official duration for the event is 30 minutes, we will stay longer if people wish to stay and visit.
Groundhog Day is a tradition observed regionally in the United States and Canada on February 2nd of every year. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early.
Since we live in North Dakota, we can be fairly certain spring won't be arriving early so we are going to celebrate Groundhog Day a little differently. If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, we will have blizzards*, if he doesn’t see his shadow, we will have sundaes*.
All attendees are responsible for paying for their own food and drinks.
